Home Base
HomeCore Construction is based in Garden City. We build kitchens, baths, additions, whole home renovations and custom homes here and across Long Island, with custom cabinetry and millwork made in our own shop.
Garden City is a planned village with many older homes, and remodeling here usually means working carefully inside an existing structure: opening walls, updating plumbing and electric, and building new rooms that match the house.
Rockville Centre, where we have remodeled a kitchen, is a short drive south, and we work in Mineola, Floral Park, New Hyde Park and Westbury as well.
Permits and Rules
Building permits in the village go through the Village of Garden City Building Department. The permit has to be posted in a front window or door until the final certificate is issued, and the approved plans stay on site for every inspection. HomeCore Construction files the permits and meets the inspectors.
The village sign code only allows a short list of signs at homes, such as real estate signs and a small name and street number sign. Contractor and job site signs are not on the list, so we do not put yard signs or banners on Garden City jobs.
A dumpster in the street needs a Public Works permit, reflective striping and the owner's name and phone stenciled on it. We arrange that as part of the job.

Yes. HomeCore Construction is based in Garden City and works across Nassau and Suffolk counties.
The Village of Garden City code limits signs in residential districts to a short list, and contractor signs are not on it. We follow the rule, so on Garden City jobs you will see the posted building permit instead of our yard sign.
